MiTiendaSidoc: 24/7 Digital Procurement
for Ironmongery Distribution

Tech We Used
Python
The client
SIDOC (Siderúrgica de Occidente) is a 100% privately owned steelmaker with more than 35 years in the market, producing around 23,000 tons of steel every month through a circular-economy model and a team of about 830 people. Beyond producing steel, SIDOC distributes iron and construction materials to a regional network of hardware stores across Colombia's southwestern region. In a sector that has historically run on in-person service and phone calls, SIDOC set out to modernize how its network buys and ships.
The challenge
How do you transform a traditional industry that used to operate 100% manually into a 24/7 sales machine? Iron and construction distribution had long relied on in-person service and phone orders, leaving customers unable to buy outside business hours and exposing the network to manual errors and limited visibility.
The solution
We worked with SIDOC's regional network of hardware stores to automate their procurement process through MiTiendaSidoc, a centralized digital platform. Instead of manually managing orders and supplier interactions, the platform streamlined purchasing workflows, improved visibility, and reduced operational friction across the network. We also integrated MiTiendaSidoc with SIDOC's Siesa ERP, synchronizing catalog, pricing, inventory, and orders so the storefront and back office share a single source of truth.
